Baby Gardens in Warrington

A quiet place to remember your baby

When your baby dies, finding a place to remember them can be deeply personal. You may want somewhere to visit, leave flowers or simply sit quietly. There is no right way to remember, and you do not have to make every decision at once.

Houghtons can gently explain the choices and help you arrange a burial, cremation or memorial that feels right for your family.

Sweet Dreams Baby Garden

Walton Lea Crematorium

A granite sculpture of a sleeping baby held in a cupped hand, with a small wooden arbour and neat hedges behind

For families choosing cremation, Sweet Dreams offers places for scattering or burying ashes. Memorial vaults are also available. A Memory Wall allows families to remember their baby even when no ashes are laid to rest here. If you wish to attend when ashes are laid to rest, an appointment can be arranged.

Rose Bud Baby Garden

Fox Covert Cemetery

A bronze statue of a small child on a granite column, set in a ring of stones beside a curving path and a bench, with a wide view beyond

Rose Bud provides a dedicated setting for a baby’s burial and a place for families to return. Its bronze baby sculpture rests on an unfinished granite column, symbolising a life begun but not completed.

Forget-me-not Baby Garden

Warrington Cemetery

Forget-me-not offers a dedicated burial garden with space for remembrance. Both burial gardens allow suitable headstones or memorials, subject to council approval and installation by a registered memorial mason.

Why is there no charge?

Houghtons does not charge for our professional funeral services for babies and children up to 17, including pregnancy losses before 24 weeks.

For eligible funerals in England, the Children’s Funeral Fund covers burial and cremation fees for children under 18 and babies stillborn after 24 weeks of pregnancy. Providers claim these fees directly, so families should not be charged. The fund is not means-tested. Optional memorials and other extras may cost more; we explain any costs before you decide.

For a pregnancy loss before 24 weeks, we will explain the local burial or cremation arrangements and confirm any external charges separately.

Warrington Council fees 2026–2027

Published charges effective from 1 April 2026. These are council reference fees, not a bill to an eligible family. Eligible burial and cremation fees are claimed through the Children’s Funeral Fund.

VAT is included where applicable. The £357 Baby Garden fee already includes the first burial. Optional memorials, leases and attended appointments are separate choices; the council will confirm any amount payable after eligible funding. Bespoke designs may cost extra.

Visiting and leaving tributes

Please keep toys and ornaments beside the memorial rather than on the grass, so the gardens can be maintained with care. Ask Bereavement Services about suitable flower containers and current arrangements for floral tributes.

We are here to help
