At Houghtons, we understand that every family has different wishes when saying goodbye to someone they love. Our Time To Say Goodbye Cremation Service gives a small number of family members and close friends the chance to attend Walton Lea Crematorium, see their loved one arrive and spend a quiet moment together before the cremation.
The service allows a maximum of 20 people and about 15 minutes for everyone to enter, sit together, reflect and then leave the chapel into the floral tribute area. It is designed for families who want a meaningful opportunity to be together without the formality or length of a traditional funeral.
What is included
- A hearse to meet your family and friends at Walton Lea Crematorium
- Bringing your loved one into our care during normal office hours, from home or a care setting such as a hospital, care home or hospice
- Dressing your loved one in what you would like them to wear
- A simple coffin of our standard size, with options to upgrade to something more individual
- All necessary attendance and administration
- Your loved one's name displayed on the chapel list at Walton Lea
- A floral tribute card displayed in the flower bay
- Your choice of two pieces of music, which we arrange for you: one as you enter the chapel and one as you leave
- Time for family and friends to sit quietly and reflect
- The Walton Lea cremation fee and chapel hire, so nothing is an unexpected cost
- Ashes ready for collection from us within 7 days of the cremation
